Gateway have received £5000 from B&Q for the East Lancashire Families Project. The project supports homeless families who will be moving on from supported accommodation and moving into their own tenancy.

Families moving on from supported accommodation often don’t have much money and this funding will help them decorate their new homes to support them sustain their tenancy and help them live their best life.

Gateway’s East Lancashire Families project supports families that are homeless and are experiencing challenges to maintaining or finding a tenancy. The project also provides the necessary skills to support families into independent living and securing long-term solutions.

Lisa Burke, Floating Support Coordinator at Gateway; ‘We support some of the most vulnerable families in our communities by preparing them to move onto their own tenancies, but their money can only stretch so far without getting into debt.

We are delighted to have been awarded this grant and are grateful to B&Q for recognising how much this will benefit our families. This grant will help families decorate their homes and avoid unexpected costs to help them be successful in their tenancies.’
